DEREALIZATION
The project focused on creating realistic 3D models and spaces/objects using software such as Unreal Engine 5.1, Blender, and Substance Painter. The final products were compatible with virtual reality technology and were designed to be VR ready.
The project was inspired by the rapidly evolving metaverse, a sci-fi environment. I wanted to create a story that highlighted digital and technological advancements. The story followed a young freelancer who was designing and creating 3D avatars for the metaverse.
The project also included the creation of 3D environments, all of which were designed for use with virtual reality technology.
The story takes place in the year 2046, when the world is at a crossroads. The population has split into two groups - more than 80% of people enter virtual reality, where they find refuge from the unpleasantness of the real world. Up to 25% of the population is even absorbed by the constant use of virtual reality and cannot return to reality. Two giant corporations, S and M, are at the forefront of this new world and have everyone else in their grip.
These corporations have gained the greatest influence and power since the beginning of civilization and now rule the people. Humanity is obsessed with a world that has been created for the corporations' own benefit.
